First Post Ever!

Good morning Friends!

Thank you so much for supporting me this morning on my big first day! I'll admit, I'm feeling a bit nervous so I hope that all of you who have been doing this for a while will help me out. I was thinking for my first post we will start off with the basics: Who, What, When, Where and Why.. {{{That seems like the easiest thing to me}}}

Who: You, the Bird, the Beard, and Me!

          You: My new {hopefully enthusiastic and dedicated} readers!
          the Bird: Everyone, meet my beautiful {Oops, I mean dashing} and sweet {Ehem, brave and strong} parakeet birdie, Luna.

Luna, say "Hello" to our friends. {{{I know you can't hear his squeaking, but he's almost ready to show off his human speech}}} Luna is still a little camera shy. This picture was taken on his first day, he was terrified, but there will be more photos later when he's a bit more used to the camera.

          the Beard: My ruggedly handsome, oh so bearded, husband Greg.

Greg and I grew up in the same hometown, dated for 6 years, and now have been married for almost 7 months. And life is GREAT. Getting to marry my best friend and live with him everyday has been the biggest, 'funnest' adventure of my whole life. Greg is also an extremely talented artist! I'm sure there will be plenty of posts on his artwork.

          Lastly, Me!:

I graduated from Biola University with my BFA in Art (as did Greg), my emphasis was in photography. Darkroom photography to be specific. I'm not very good with a digital camera. I develop all of my own film and photos. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Also, I recently acquired my own enlarger, so now my darkroom setup for our guest bathroom is almost complete! Hopefully there will be more on that soon :)

What: A blog {{{Obvious....}}}

When: I'm going to do my very best to blog every weekday morning. Hopefully, I'll have fun and exciting things to show you every-time!

Where: Greg and I {And Luna} currently live in Southern California. However, Greg just finished applying to Grad Schools so in a few months when we hear back I'll let you know if we are staying here or headed somewhere new!

Finally, WHY: My blog will primarily be about my art, the stuff I love to make, and Greg's art. I've always loved making things. Ever since I can remember I've loved making things from the {What I'm sure were atrocious} little outfits with my mom, to making the coolest box cars you've ever seen with my dad. I got a bit confused for a few years about what I really liked to do, I made some decisions that although they weren't bad, I probably would do differently if I had a change to re-make them. But, now that Greg and I are married I've had the time and money to recall what I really love to do is MAKE things, just about ANYTHING!

SO! Now that we've got that out of the way.... Onward and Upward {As one of my favorite college professors would say} As for what I've been making recently, come back tomorrow to see the really super cool, for now secret, thing I've been working on the last couple days!

Thank you all again for coming! I really appreciate your support. Also, if I get more than 10 comments on this post I'm going to do a little give-a-way! So be sure to leave me a note :)
