Featured Artist::: Lisa Wiseman Pt. II

Good Morning Everyone!

Last week I did part one of this two part post on San Francisco based photographer Lisa Wiseman. Since then I've had the extreme pleasure of getting to chat with Lisa just a bit and she's absolutely as wonderful as can be. For me, getting to talk to the artist {not necessarily even about their work} adds so much to viewing their art. Talking to the artist adds a bit of depth to the work that helps me appreciate it just a little more because I can start to feel or see the artist in their work. The point is, it's been an honor.

Last week I showed you some of Lisa's "New Polaroid" work {amazing!}. But this week we are going to look at some of her more "traditional" {? Not sure if that's the right word here} photography. It's absolutely stunning, I'm sure you'll agree.

Don't forget to go see the rest of Lisa's work on her WEBSITE.

Ok friends...

There is this print. This one:

I've literally wanted it FOREVER. I finally decided to go purchase it just now and I can't find it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not in my favorites anymore and when I click on my old links to it Etsy says that link doesn't exist!!!! I'm totally freaking out.

Do any of you recognize it or know who the seller was or any way to find them!?!??!

Baby Destruction {Don't Freak Out!}

I have an update on one of The Beard's art pieces. There are quite a few of you who weren't here for the first part of this so we'll do a quick refresher. Way back HERE on July 1st, I showed you guys the baby my husband made. Yes, he made a baby without me. OMG right!?!? Here it is:

Yep. There he is. This last Saturday we executed the next step in the project. The Beard decided that he wanted to put the unfired clay baby into the creek and let him wash away {a kind of reference to Moses floating down the Nile}. I wish The Beard was here to explain it. He'd do way better than me. Perhaps I'll have to add that in later. ANWAYS. Saturday. We took the little guy up to the creek, got the camera all set up, and watched him slowly disintegrate and wash away. It was pretty amazing. Here are some snapshots:

 {{{Camera and baby all situated and filming}}}

 {{{This is after his body broke apart}}}

All that was left was the head, soft and mushy. It held together because there was still some paper inside it from when The Beard sculpted it. It was a really cool process to watch. The whole thing only took about 2 hours {we thought it would take much longer}. The finished product will be the video. I'm not sure if we have an ETA on that, but rest assured, I'll let you know as soon as it's ready :)

Interrogation::: Casey {The Wiegand's} + GIVEAWAY!!

Interrogation time y'all!

Today we have the lovely and sweet Casey from The Wiegand's! I met Casey a few months ago and I have to say she is one of the most beautiful and kind women I've met. You will all love her, I just know it :) Welcome Casey!

1. Tell us a little bit about you as a person

   My name is Casey Wiegand, I am a freelance artist, wife and mama.

   I love painting and sharing our life through my blog...where you can expect pieces of my perspective on life, faith, kids, marriage, with touches of art, creative inspiration, projects and things I love along the way. I have two little ones in the hopes of lots more and am married to the love of my life!

2. Tell us how/why you started The Wiegands?

   When I started blogging it was because I found this quote:

   "I find beauty in not only the beautiful things in life, but the bittersweet and sad as well. To me, there is something poignantly lovely about the human experience from its splendor to its grief. God created all our emotions, not just the happy ones, and for His good purposes. That's why a good cry can feel so good. And hitting our limits forces us to look outside ourselves for a Savior. It is in the plea, when we're at our end, that we can find that which is truly life-giving. Personally, my moments of deepest grief, deepest pain, have resulted in the most beautiful seasons in my heart. I've met God more intimately in those moments than in all the other pleasant ones combined. What isn't completely lovely about that?"
(Leslie, top of the page).

I was going through a hard time and something about this quote gave me hope. And peace. And then the entire blogging experience and community pulled me out. Into a better place.

3. What do you do when you're not blogging?

   I am painting, loving on my babies, going to the park/pool, or  hanging with my hubby!

4. What networking do you to that you feel most helps your blogging business?

   Finding blogs with involved readers (that I sponsor) really has helped me and doing the giveaways!

5. Who are some other bloggers that inspire you?

   I love Gussy, Little Miss Momma, Ash from the Shine Project- all these ladies really helped me starting out...there are so many though!

6. What are some of your favorite family activities?

   I love going to the zoo!

Silly Question:

What is something that you think there should be an award for but there isn't?

   I think there should be an award for people who are gracious with giving!

Thank you so much Casey for sharing with us!! Your photos are all so gorgeous and so are you! PS I really love that quote. It's amazing how God uses everything for his glory isn't it? :)

Be sure to visit Casey's online locations!

Owning A Business Is HARD!

Hi Friends :)

So you may or may not have noticed that I'm a bit behind on my 30 Days Of Lists posts... and that I've been a bit slow at responding to emails/comments... and that I've gotten a bit forgetful...

Well it's all for a really good reason. I've been literally overloaded with orders in my shops. Which is obviously totally awesome! But also a bit stressful since now I'm not only behind on blog stuff but regular life and house chore type stuff. Please forgive me while I figure out how to run a one woman circus business and function like a normal human being at the same time. Also, if any of you have seen a house elf looking for work, send him my way ;)

For now, I hope this "buried alive" Halloween cupcake will make you smile!

SO........ I am a huge idiot and totally never announced the winner for the Deer In A Bottle giveaway last week! What the heck!?!? Anyways, we have one now! The winner was #18 Hazel and Mare! Congratulations girlfriend!!!

Sorry I'm such a moron everyone :(
